Intended Audience

This course is designed for healthcare providers who respond to cardiovascular and respiratory emergencies such as physicians, nurses, paramedics, emergency medical technicians, respiratory therapists, physical and occupational therapists, physician's assistants, residents or fellows, medical or nursing students in training, aides, medical or nursing assistants, police officers, firefighters, and other allied health personnel or other emergency services personnel.

Course Description

The American Heart Associations BLS Healthcare Provider Re-Certification Course refreshes the student’s knowledge and skills of CPR for victims of all ages, use of an automated external defibrillator (AED), and how to relieve choking (foreign-body airway obstruction). It also reviews how to recognize emergencies such as sudden cardiac arrest and how to respond to them.
